Learning Should Always Be Fun

When a child learns by having fun, they’re often heavily involved in the activity. This involvement helps them learn firsthand. In many cases, this firsthand involvement leads to lasting memories of the material being presented.

When learning is fun, the child learns to love learning. It’s very important to teach children to love learning early by singing, dancing and playing educational games and activities with them. Additionally, they should be encouraged to participate in group activates that foster a love for learning in children. Learning is one of those activities that a person does throughout life, so it’s important to show, not teach, a child how much fun it is. This is what we practice and aspire to do at Small World!

PROGRAMS WE OFFER FOR YOU AND YOUR CHILD

SMALL WORLD PRESCHOOL

The focus of the preschool program is to give children the opportunity to learn through play in a loving, caring environment. Days are filled with busy explorations, investigations, and discoveries. Children express themselves through art, music, and movement. They practice math and number concepts using age-appropriate materials to organize, sort, count, build, and sequence. They explore the world of science through weather and seasonal activities. They develop motor skills and coordination while running, jumping, hopping, skipping, throwing, and catching. They demonstrate an emerging love of reading and writing, using growing literacy skills during read-alouds, shared readings, reading groups, and writing centers.

Children use language to share, communicate, and interact with friends. They enjoy books, stories, games, projects, and songs based on curricular themes that are introduced in a whole-group setting, then extended to small-group work and individual lessons. A print-rich environment and a love of reading are fostered to allow the children to practice literacy skills in real-life situations.

Small World incorporates the best of the Montessori & Play way Method of teaching. Each child at Small World gets individual attention for writing, handwork and painting.

AFTER SCHOOL ADVANTAGE PROGRAM | ASAP

Children require a safe environment to blossom- At Small World – ASAP, that is exactly what we provide for children between the ages of 2.5 – 6 years. Our dedicated, tailor made after school programs provide kids with the opportunity to develop in a holistic, 360 degree manner. We aim at tapping the potential of each and every child.

Emotional and Social Skills

ASAP provides our children with the opportunity to develop positive ties with those they interact with, nurturing respect, open-mindedness, and willingness to help other people.

We provide a safe and positive environment where your children are encouraged to join games and conversations. This helps them to develop their social skills. Research shows that little ones enrolled in these programs develop self-confidence and better people skills. They are less shy, more confident, and more socially outgoing.

Leadership skills.

Our Little ones are exposed to specially formulated situations requiring them to volunteer help, take charge of certain activities that are designed to be effective leaders in the future.

Physical Activity and Healthy Habits

Our ASAP programs provide opportunities for kids to engage in sports and other physical activities. Each sport brings with it a new learning – to be a team player, to learn about good sportsmanship and more. Your child will also learn about good nutrition, and healthy eating habits.

Productive use of Time

We are surrounded by a host of distractions that only make it easier for a child to fritter hours away on computer games, aimless talk, and other inconsequential activities after school.

ASAP provides structured activities so that children can be productive, learn and have fun at the same time.

Parents can also opt to enroll for our Full Day Program incorporating the Preschool and After school program.
